Super stoked surfer Chris Hartkopp wins Surffrenzy 2013!

Super stoked surfer Chris Hartkopp wins Surffrenzy 2013.

Surffrenzy 2013 was held in Holland this weekend (20th – 21st april 2013), and both the Hartkopp brothers had entered the competition. They both did really well. However, the champion title would in the end go to big brother Christoffer Hartkopp who dazzled the judges with some amazing surf in very tough, choppy conditions.

Congratulations Christoffer! Well done!

Rip Curl Pro 2013: Bells Beach – Adriano De Souza wins!

Adriano De Souza wins in a closely contested heat versus Nat Young.

It was set up for a highly unlikely final, with both Joel Parkinson and Kelly Slater eliminated in the third round of this year’s event. Adriano De Souza squared off against Nat Young in the final, and what a showdown it was. Adriano defeated Nat by a meager 0.41 points – meaning that the wave which looked to be a certain 8-pointer, but got judged to a 7.50 proved fatal for the rookie, Nat Young. Nevertheless, Adriano De Souza did amazing to get to the final, and his first ever Bell trophy was well deserved. Congratulations!

“Adriano de Souza (BRA), 25, has claimed the 2013 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford over ASP Dream Tour rookie Nat Young (USA), 21, in clean three-to-five foot (1 – 1.5 metre) waves at Bells Beach today. Event No. 2 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach culminated in dramatic fashion Tuesday with the young Brazilian claiming the first South American men’s title in the event’s storied 52-year history.” (Rip Curl)
